In Full Body, Katerina Ivanovna is exactly the same as in the original, but at the same time, players are allowed to see the very girl with whom the protagonist fell in love. Through flashbacks about the beginning of their relationship, through photographs that captured important moments in the life of a couple (the anniversary of the first intoxication, for example). In the eyes of the player, the image of Katerina Ivanovna is finally created, for the future with which one wants to fight not only from the desire to see all the endings. The original Catherine had two obvious flaws. First, when it was necessary to make a detour on the back of the tower, the camera behaved like a drunken sailor on land, trying to peek up her skirt. She was drawn to the side, she never showed, in fact, the back of the tower, and so that life would not seem like honey at all, Vincent’s horizontal control was inverted, as soon as the movement stopped. Full Body has successfully fixed this, and now we can admire the design of the butts of the towers in all its glory. The second drawback may seem much more subjective, but Atlus itself took it into account anyway: Katerina McBride (hereinafter, to avoid confusion – “Katerina Ivanovna”) could not be compared with Katerina the seductress (hereinafter, to avoid confusion – “The Best Katerina” ).Īnd the point here is not only and not so much in preferences (although not without it, to be honest), but in the fact that Katerina Ivanovna was initially placed in unfavorable conditions. Relations with her are at the time of the game in a more or less static state. Moreover, on the verge of a crisis, which, although accelerated by the appearance of the Best Katerina, is not caused by her. Thus, Katerina Ivanovna is presented to us most of the time in a rather unsightly form, when she is at the very peak of her nerves. And against this background, we are seeing the development of relations with the Best Katerina. Yes, quite destructive. Yes, with outright manipulation and violence. But the active relationship that we observe from beginning to end, which is why, as a result, you willy-nilly imbue the Best Katerina with more sympathy, and making a choice in her favor is much easier.
